Barrett Business Services Inc. appoints president and CEO

Barrett Business Services Inc. (BBSI) has announced that Michael Elich, who was appointed interim president and chief executive officer in January, following the death of William Sherertz, has been elected to the company's board of directors and appointed president and CEO.

Elich has been with the company for nearly ten years, serving as chief operating officer for five years. Prior to joining BBSI, he was chief operating officer at Skills Resource Training Center, a staffing services company with offices in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

"The board of directors has been very impressed with the speed and effectiveness of the management transition following Bill's untimely death,” said BBSI Board Chairman Anthony Meeker. “After review of Mike's past performance and recent actions, the board felt it was appropriate to make his appointment as president and CEO permanent and to elect Mike to BBSI's board of directors."

BBSI provides a comprehensive range of human resource management solutions to large and small companies throughout many regions of the United States.

Barrett Business Services Inc. (BBSI) has announced the promotion of Eric Sawyer to area manager of BBSI’s Preferred Payroll.

Sawyer has been with the company for nearly two years, working in new business development. In his new role, the company said his chief responsibilities will continue to be new business development through a variety of networking organizations.

Clark County nonprofit Community Services Northwest (CSNW), a provider of integrated mental health and housing services, has named two new members to its board of directors: Cindy Johnson and Lee Schiller.

Johnson is the advertising sales leader at the Vancouver Business Journal. She is also the founder and coordinator of WIN (Women In Networking NW).

Schiller is a real estate broker, specializing in residential real estate in Clark County for the past ten years.

Regional accounting firm Opsahl, Dawson & Company PS is pleased to announce four new hires: Ted R. Davis and Rachael Rahn to its Longview office, and Holly Hall and Ursula A. Perkins to its Vancouver office.

The firm said Hall will serve as manager for its Vancouver office.

Five new officers and board members have been officially inducted into the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce.

The 2011 executive board includes Doug Quinn as chairman, Mike Harden as chair elect, Wayne Rivers as vice chair, Beverly Brissler as secretary and Kenda Pollard as treasurer.

The chamber officially installed the new members at its annual Recognition Banquet, which was held at the Heathman Lodge on January 28th.
