Hamilton arrives at the food bank with six years of experience in project management and community engagement and more than 20 years working in nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited that Alan is joining our leadership team at CCFB,” said Jim Youde, Clark County Food Bank board president. “He will work closely with our board, the Salvation Army staff, our local food bank partners, volunteers, donors, public agencies and others to advance our mission to alleviate hunger and its root causes across Clark County. With our new food distribution center in place, we now have the capacity to accept bulk donations, to host volunteers in the repack centers, and to teach nutritional education in our learning kitchen.”

Previously, Hamilton worked as the senior manager of community investment at First Independent Bank.

Columbia Credit Union has hired Teresa Munn to serve as a mortgage officer.

In her new role, Munn will focus on serving members and growing Columbia’s market share by developing referral networks to gain mortgage lending opportunities, the credit union said.

With nearly 17 years of mortgage lending experience, Munn most recently worked as a mortgage officer for a local financial institution.

“Teresa joins us as an industry professional with extensive experience in the home lending market,” said Jeff Bannan, Columbia VP of mortgage sales. “Members will benefit from her experience and expertise, and we look forward to her contributions.”

Munn serves on the Community Housing Resource Center’s Board of Directors and is current President of the Women Entrepreneurs Organization. She also served as past board president of Evergreen Habitat for Humanity.

Regional economic development organization Greater Portland Inc has named Jill Eiland, Intel Corporation’s northwest region corporate affairs manager, and Tom Hughes, Metro Council president, as co-chairs of the Greater Portland Regional Export Council.

In their new roles, the organization said Eiland and Hughes will be responsible for leading the council through the implementation of the Metro Export Initiative’s three-year strategic plan to help companies in the Portland-Vancouver region access global markets and grow local jobs.

“Our region is a national leader on global exports,” said Sean Robbins, CEO of Greater Portland Inc. “Jill and Tom’s expertise will help make the Metro Export Initiative’s goal of doubling our region’s exports a reality.”

In addition to convening the Regional Export Council, Greater Portland Inc is in the process of hiring a vice president of regional strategy and coordination, who will serve as a liaison to the Regional Export Council and help to drive the deliverables of the Metro Export Initiative’s strategic plan.

Bike Clark County President Eric Giacchino has earned the 2012 Public Health Community Award. The award was presented by Clark County Commissioners during the Board of Health’s monthly meeting on April 25.

In 2011, Giacchino worked with staff and volunteers with the Vancouver and Evergreen school districts to strengthen a bicycle and pedestrian safety program. He obtained a $25,000 Safe Routes to School grant that allowed the program to purchase new bicycles, a bicycle trailer, and training for physical education teachers and volunteers to teach bicycle and pedestrian safety. Last year, 350 Clark County students took the bicycle and pedestrian safety class; 700 are expected this year.

Giacchino also recruited volunteers to help with bicycle parking for the “Six to Sunset” concert series in downtown Vancouver. He has organized volunteers for the Annual Tandem Bicycle Ride event for students at the Washington School for the Blind.

Scott and Jody Campbell, third-generation owners of The Columbian, were recently honored as the 2012 Friends of the Foundation by the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. The award was presented at the Foundation’s Annual Luncheon on May 8.

The Friends of the Foundation award is presented to individuals who have provided both professional and personal support to the Community Foundation’s goal of promoting philanthropy.
