Alfson Marnee

Alfson has several years of experience in project and administrative processes management, most recently with McKinstry & Co. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Corban University in Salem and is actively involved in the nonprofit community in Clark County, where she resides with her husband and two teenagers.

The Murdock Trust was created from the estate of Melvin J. (Jack) Murdock and its mission is to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest by providing grants and enrichment programs to organizations seeking to strengthen the region’s educational, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways. Since its inception in 1975, the trust has awarded more than 4,800 grants and programs, totaling more than $650 million.

John Cameron, investment and advisory brokerage services manager for First Independent Bank (soon to be Sterling Savings Bank), recently completed the necessary financial planning coursework and examination to become a Certified Financial Planner, as authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board).

The CFP Board examination covers the following areas: the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning. Those certified by the CFP Board must also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold the organization’s code of ethics and professional responsibility and financial planning practice standards.

Cameron is a graduate of Bucknell University, and has worked as a broker, financial advisor and private client investment consultant for more than 18 years. He is a member of Rotary, treasurer of Ridgefield Little League and a supporter of The March of Dimes Greater Oregon Chapter.

Trey Klug of Vancouver has won the Core Value Award from Corwin Beverage. The award honors Corwin employees who demonstrate the Ridgefield-based company’s core values each day.

Klug is a driver supervisor for Corwin Beverage where he has been an employee for 12 years. He was nominated for the award by his peers.

“Trey is a true A-player at Corwin Beverage,” said John Hartney, Corwin vice president of sales. “He demonstrates our core values in everything he does from empowering his employees, delivering great customer service to his customers and being an active participant in our community.
I am pleased that our employees awarded Trey this year’s Core Value Award.”
