OLIVER ORJIAKO

Clark County names planning director

Oliver Orjiako was promoted to Clark County’s director of community planning, filling a vacancy left by Richard Carson’s 2007 resignation.

Orjiako joined the county in 1989, and has been involved in the Comprehensive Growth Management Plan since its inception. He most recently served as interim director.

Orjiako holds a doctorate in urban studies and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Portland State University. He is a member of the American Planning Association and serves on the board of the Southwest Washington Columbia Land Trust.

Vancouver broker earns top nod

Tamara Fuller was named Norris, Beggs & Simpson Cos.’ No. 2 Top Brokerage Producer of 2008. The only Vancouver broker in the company’s top five, she closed 47 deals last year. Fuller serves on the board of directors for the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and the Southwest Washington Advisory Council to Junior Achievement.

YWCA Clark County hires devlopment director

Jennifer Werdel was named the YWCA Clark County’s development and communications director. She is responsible for overseeing fundraising and communications activities, with a focus on planned giving, major donors and sponsorship development.

Most recently, Werdel worked at the Vancouver office of  Kennedy Communications.

Columbia Bank adds vice president

Mark Miller joined Columbia Bank as vice president and private banking officer. He oversees client account management in Southwest Washington and Oregon. Miller has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry and is president of the Evergreen School District Foundation.

SHAWN STEVENSON

Engineer earns certification

Shawn W. Stevenson has passed the Washington State Structural examinations and is now a licensed structural engineer. He has worked at Vancouver-based Roggenkamp Erickson & Assoc. for four years and has nine years of engineering experience. Stevenson holds a degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University.

Analyst becomes portfolio manager

John Callegari became a portfolio manager at Portland-based Cascade Investment Advisers. Callegari lives in Camas and was chief investment officer at Vancouver-based First Independent and vice president and senior portfolio manager of its asset management group. He is a chartered financial analyst and volunteers for the investment committees of the Clark County Skills Center Foundation and the Vancouver National Historic Reserve Trust.

Consultant nominated for book award

Vancouver-based business performance coach Kathy Condon is a finalist in the USA Book News’ National Best Books 2008 Awards. Her latest work, “It Doesn’t Hurt to Ask: All About Communication,” was nominated in the Business Careers category.

Pritchard Orthodontics recognizes specialist

Cheryl Shoff is celebrating three decades of employment at Vancouver-based Pritchard Orthodontics. The scheduling specialist has worked at the practice since 1979, seeing former practitioners Dr. Richard Shaver and Dr. Wayne Van Tillburg come and go before the arrival of Dr. Bill Pritchard in 1990.

CCU branch manager joins Humane Society committee

Teresa Didier, manager of Columbia Credit Union’s Riverstone Branch, has joined the Humane Society for Southwest Washington’s steering committee. A longtime animal lover, Didier will help plan events and solicit donations to the organization’s programs. The credit union was a sponsor of the 2008 dinner auction benefiting HSSW’s new facility on 192nd Avenue in Vancouver.

Prudential Northwest adds to team

Portland-based Prudential Northwest Properties added a branch manager and six real estate agents in Southwest Washington. In Vancouver, Patti Puaokalani and Amy Fields are based at Columbia Tech Center while Brady Augustine, Kristen DeJong and Robert Lee are at Prudential’s Clark County Northwest office. Lorre Jaffe is the new manager of the company’s Longview branch, working with Star Thorpe, a new full-time agent.

Re/Max adds agent

Nycole Peraza, formerly of Keller Williams, has joined Re/Max as an agent at the company’s Columbia Tech Center location. She has seven years of real estate experience.
