Mark Brandon

Columbia Bank names regional leader

Mark Brandon is Columbia Bank’s new senior vice president and regional manager of Southwest Washington and Oregon. He will work from the Tacoma-based bank’s Longview office.

Brandon’s banking career spans more than 29 years. Most recently, he was chief credit officer at First Independent and also worked for 23 years at Seattle-based Seafirst Bank, which was aquired by Bank of America in 2000.

Brandon serves on the board of trustees for the Washington State University Foundation and has served on the boards of the Columbia River Economic Development Council, Southwest Washington Independent Forward Thrust and the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington State University and graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School with honors.

 

Alan Ludlow

BOCC adds senior VP

Alan Ludlow is Bank of Clark County’s newest senior vice president and commercial lending officer. Previously he was a co-founder, chief credit officer and chief lending officer at Oregon-based Pacific West Bank. Ludlow worked in credit leadership at First Interstate Bank of Oregon and Security Pacific Bank of Oregon, was chief financial officer of Water Tech Industries and president of Ludlow Capital, all Oregon companies. Ludlow holds a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of Utah and certificates from the Pacific Coast Banking School and the graduate school of credit and financial management at Dartmouth College.

Jerry Nutter

Washington Policy Center appoints Nutter

Jerry Nutter, president and chief executive officer of Vancouver-based Nutter Corp., has joined the board of directors of the Washington Policy Center. He will assist the Seattle-based organization in promoting free-market solutions in Southwest Washington. Nutter also has served on the Building Industry Association of Clark County’s political action committee.

 

Sam Crummet

Battle Ground names planning supervisor

Sam Crummet has joined the city of Battle Ground’s community development department as planning supervisor. He was previously a senior planner at Vancouver-based Mackay and Sposito Inc. and has 10 years of planning experience in Washington and Oregon. Crummet was a planning technician for the city of Camas and a senior planner for the city of Ridgefield, as well as a planner at Auburn, Wash.-based DBM Consulting Engineers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning from Eastern Washington University.

 

Nick Haindl

Port chooses marine marketing manager

Nick Haindl has joined the marine department of the Port of Vancouver as marketing manager, handling global marketing efforts. For five years, Haindl was site manager for Vancouver-based Ports America, formerly Marine Terminals Corp., where he worked for a total of 11 years. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.

 

MaryAnn Barham

Columbia River Bank names AVP

MaryAnn Barham is Columbia River Bank’s new assistant vice president and credit support manager. She comes to the Vancouver-based bank with an 18-year history in her field. Barham has worked for the last eight years in Vancouver and is a graduate of the Western Banking Lending School.

 

Leslie DeFrees

Clark County Title adds escrow officer

Leslie DeFrees is the newest escrow officer at Vancouver-based Clark County Title. She comes to the company’s Hazel Dell branch with 23 years of experience in escrow and title work. DeFrees was previously was president of Portland-based Stewart Title of Oregon and was president of Stewart Title Western Washington in Vancouver.

 

Bill Stewart

Nonprofit gains employment specialist

Bill Stewart has joined the staff of Vancouver-based Partners in Careers as an employment specialist, assisting the nonprofit in providing services to workers with disabilities. He has worked for 20 years in vocational rehabilitation and employment services, most recently at Goodwill Industries.

 

Rodney Wells

Financial representative gains distinction

Rodney Wells earned designation as a chartered adviser in philanthropy from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. Since 2001, he has been a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Vancouver. Wells also is certified as a public accountant and financial planner and is a chartered life underwriter.

 

Carol L. Spence

Caring Ambassadors chooses chair

Carol L. Spence was named chair of the board of directors for the Vancouver-based Caring Ambassadors Program. The nonprofit provides support and advocacy to long-term disease patients and has board members throughout the country. Spence has volunteered for the organization for nearly two years and is a real estate agent in San Francisco and Sonoma, Calif. She holds two doctorates from Missouri-based Holos University Graduate Seminary, a master’s degree from the California-based Academy of Intuition Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in social science from University of California at Berkeley.
