ALDEN ROBERTS

SWMC selects new VP of quality

Southwest Washington Medical Center has added Dr. Alden Roberts as the new vice president of quality and medical affairs in a newly created position. Roberts is transitioning from his current general surgery role with Kaiser Permanente and will take on the quality/medical affairs duties in August 2007.

Roberts has been a member of the medical staff at Southwest since 1990. During his tenure he has served on the patient care committee, the medical ethics community, as the department of surgery chair, and on the quality committee of the Southwest Washington Health System Board. Roberts has also served in various teaching roles, including clinical assistant professor of surgery at USC School of Medicine, professor of surgery at Legacy Emanuel, and clinical instructor for the Department of Family Practice at the University of Washington.

TERESA GARRISON

CHHH employee presents at conference

Teresa Garrison of Community Home Health & Hospice recently took part in the 2007 Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology’s Conference and International Meeting held in San Jose, presenting two lectures. Since 2006, Garrison has been the assistant director of quality improvement at CHHH. She chairs the safety committee and serves on the quality improvement committee, research and development group, professional advisory committee and policy and procedure committee. Garrison earned both Bachelor and Master of Nursing Science Degrees from Webster University in St. Louis.

 

CHRISTOPHER KIRK

On Line Support technician

On Line Support has added Christopher Kirk to its technical team. Kirk is a born and raised Idaho native and a married father of two. He relocated to Vancouver for the position at On Line Support Inc.

Kirk has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a minor in Psychology from Boise State University.  He has also received certifications as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Professional, HP Certified Accredited Platform Specialist (APS), A+, Network +, Security + and DHTI+ Certified Professional.  

 

BRUCE McCOWN

Comcast rep expands coverage area

Bruce McCown, Comcast Business services representative, has expanded his coverage area from Vancouver to Kelso/Longview. He has worked for Comcast in Portland and Southwest Washington for eight years. After he earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon in the 1970s, he went on to become a mortgage banker in the Portland area, specializing in hotel financing for 20 years. McCown now works in Comcast Business Services selling workplace high speed Internet to small and medium-sized businesses in Southwest Washington. He is also a member of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce, Longview-Kelso Chamber of Commerce, B2B Leads and NW Steelheaders.

 

KATHY WALLEY

BoCC adds financial services administrator

Bank of Clark County has added Kathy Walley in the newly created position of financial services administrator as part of their new accounts team. In this position, Walley’s responsibilities include reviewing new and existing accounts for proper documentation and accuracy as well as providing special support to the new accounts team.

Walley most recently served as a personal banker with a large local bank. Walley attended Colorado State University. She has lived in Vancouver since 1981 and for the past 30 years has served as the president of a local chapter of Awana International, a Christian youth organization.

 

GINNY GUIDO

WSUV adds nursing director

Ginny Guido is the new regional director and assistant dean of nursing at Washington State University Vancouver. She comes to WSU Vancouver this semester most recently from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where she was professor and associate dean for graduate studies in the College of Nursing for eight years.

Guido holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Incarnate Word College, San Antonio, Texas; a Master of Science degree in nursing from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.; and a juris doctor degree from South Texas College of Law, Houston, Texas.

 

DEREK McGREGOR

GeoDesign adds senior associate

GeoDesign Inc. has strengthened its hydrogeologic services with the addition of Derek McGregor, senior associate. McGregor is based out of the firm’s Vancouver office and brings 17 years of environmental consulting, project management and business development experience to the firm. McGregor’s areas of expertise include hydrogeology, regulatory compliance, environmental investigations and impact statements, geological studies, water resource management and risk assessment and remediation. Having relocated from Washington, D.C., he previously worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a program analyst.

 

Vancouver Neurologists adds RN

Vancouver Neurologists, P.S. is excited to welcome Brenda Price to the clinic. Price is a registered nurse and has extensive experience in educating the community on neurological disorders. Before joining Vancouver Neurologists, she had been serving as a registered nurse for Oregon Health and Science University Hospital for the past seven years in patient acute care, neurosurgery and ENT.  

 

Gentle Dental hires dentist

Gentle Dental has hired Dr. Kristine Aadland at the new office on 192nd Street in Vancouver. Dr. Aadland graduated from St. Mary’s Academy, then Oregon State University. She received her dental degree from Oregon Health and Science University and is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity.
