Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay will be closing on October 31 to allow for the Port of Vancouver’s 10-acre waterfront development project at Terminal 1 to proceed. The closure includes The Quay Restaurant.
With a 50-year history in the region, the company said it wants to continue to serve Southwest Washington and has been working with the port to build a new Red Lion-branded hotel as part of the redevelopment plan.
Port commissioners are expected to vote on a preferred development concept for Terminal 1 (where the hotel is currently located) next month.
Commissioners have said they would like to see a redeveloped Terminal 1 enhance the larger waterfront development project that’s being led by the city of Vancouver and Columbia Waterfront LLC.
