SWCA Offers Erosion Control Certification in August

The Southwest Washington Contractors Association (SWCA) will be offering Certified Erosion Control and Sediment Lead (CECSL) classes next month. This certification is required by the Department of Ecology for all stormwater permitted construction sites over an acre.

The certification course will cover the erosion control process, correct measures to manage erosion and sediment; proper installation of different stormwater control devices and how to inspect and maintain them. In addition, the course identifies regulations, compliance, responsibility and liability. The certification is good for three years.

The course will be held August 9-10 at iQ Credit Union in Hazel Dell (305 Northeast 81st Street in Vancouver). The cost for certification is $200 for SWCA members ($350 for non-members) and for recertification it is $150 for SWCA members ($250 for non-members).
