Port of Vancouver to host eight public tours in 2016 to accommodate demand

The Port of Vancouver USA is hosting eight public tours in 2016 – two more than last year – due to demand.

“Every tour in 2015 had a waiting list, and not everyone who wanted to see the port was able to,” said Ryan Hart, chief external affairs officer for the port. “We’ve added additional tours in May and July so we have more seats for folks who want to see firsthand the people, products and activities that make the port such an important part of our community.”

The Port of Vancouver’s free public tours showcase many of the industries that call the port home and provide a taste of the maritime industry and global marketplace.

2016 public tour dates are:

  • Saturday, March 5, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, April 19, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 4, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 21, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, June 7, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 2, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, July 19, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 18, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Public tours begin at the port administrative building, located at 3103 Northwest Lower River Rd. in Vancouver. A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, is required to attend.
