PeaceHealth opens $3 million neurosciences center

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center opened a new inpatient unit this week, exclusively for patients facing neurological challenges.

Officials at PeaceHealth said the Thomas and Sandra Young Neurosciences Center allows patients to receive the full spectrum of care in one area by nurses, physical therapists and physicians trained in the latest advances in neuroscience care.

The 32-bed, 2,600-square-foot center, located on the sixth floor of the hospital’s Firstenburg Tower, was made possible by $3 million provided by hospital donors, including a $1.5 million donation from Vancouver’s Thomas and Sandra Young.
