Development company acquires rights to Tully’s

Vancouver-based development company Kirkwood and Kirkwood Inc. has secured the franchise rights for future Tully's Coffee locations in the Vancouver-Portland metro area.

The company, which owns and operates Big Al's in East Vancouver, will open two new drive-through locations in Vancouver within the next six months. The drive-throughs will be located at Hazel Dell Square on Northeast 78th Street next to LA Fitness and at Eastside Spectrum on Southeast 164th Avenue, next to Big Al's.

The Hazel Dell Square location will go into a new existing building and the Eastside Spectrum location is under construction now. Kirkwood and Kirkwood has set a goal of opening at least five new locations in Southwest Washington and the Portland area in the next three years.

There are several Tully's kiosk locations in grocery stores in the metro area, including one at Fred Meyer in Salmon Creek in Vancouver, and Kirkwood and Kirkwood will not take over any franchise rights of the existing locations, according to a company spokeswoman.

Tully's Coffee Corp. is based in Seattle and has more than 400 company-operated and franchised retail stores in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Arizona, Montana, Utah and its global alliance partner in Japan.
