Winners announced at Business Growth Awards

Five Vancouver businesses and one nonprofit organization took home awards from the Vancouver Business Journal's fourth annual Southwest Washington Business Growth Awards May 22 at the Hilton Vancouver. 

Acuity Group, a forensic auditing firm owned by Tiffany Couch and Laura Preston, was the Start-up of the Year.

Techjet Imaging, a large format digital inkjet producer owned by Jason Beatty and Don Bloodworth, won the Fastest Growing Business of the Year award for businesses 1 to 5 years old.

Antares Advanced Test Technologies, which makes testing technology for computer chip manufacturers, was named the Fastest Growing Business of the Year for businesses 6 to 10 years old.

Columbia/Okura LLC, which makes customized robotic palletizing systems and is jointly owned by Vancouver-based Columbia Machine Inc. and Japan's Okura Yusoki Co. Ltd., took home the Fastest Growing Business of the Year for businesses more than 10 years old.

Burgerville was named Innovator of the Year for its pledge of sustainability, employee health insurance plan and recycling and composting efforts.

And Affordable Community Environments, a nonprofit organization that develops sustainable, affordable housing in Southwest Washington was recognized for its growth. In the future, the Business Growth Awards will have a special category for nonprofit organizations.
