Port of Camas-Washougal ends legal proceedings

The Port of Camas-Washougal announced on April 8 that it had ceased legal proceedings against Riverwalk on the Columbia LLC, its former partner in a failed mixed-use development proposed for the Columbia riverfront.

"We determined after a comprehensive financial analysis of the business entity known as Riverwalk on the Columbia, LLC, that there are no assets that would allow us to recover legal costs," said David Ripp, executive director at the Port.

The announcement capped a lengthy period of litigation between the Port and Riverwalk on the Columbia. A judge ruled in favor of the Port last year, ordering the now-dissolved development company, headed by principals John McKibbin and Mark Benson, to pay $607,852 in legal costs to the Port.
