Estimated sequestration effects in Washington state

 

             More than $11.5 million in primary and secondary education funding, and significant reduction in work-study job funding

             $3.3 million in environmental funding for clean water and air quality

             More than a half-million in job search assistance, referral, and placement funding

             Elimination of Head Start and Early Head Start services for about 1,000 children, and elimination of state-funded daycare for about 800 children

             $642,000 in funding that helps public health departments respond to public health threats, and $195,000 in vaccine funding for children

             $271,000 in Justice Assistance Grants

             About $1 million in funding for programs providing meals to seniors
