Columbia Bank awards Innovative Services NW with $5,000 grant

News-brief-Columbia Bank Innovative ServicesInnovative Services NW, a Vancouver-based nonprofit that provides a variety of programs and services for the community, received a $5,000 grant from Columbia Bank for its Nurture in Nature Project.

The project will fund the creation of a master plan design for the nonprofit’s new outdoor learning environment and therapeutic activity area that will be built on property adjacent to Innovative’s facility at 9414 NE Fourth Plain Rd.

“Columbia Bank is very pleased to support this meaningful project, which has been a long-term dream of Innovative Services NW,” said Dave Hansen, senior VP and manager of the Portland/Vancouver Region for Columbia Bank. “We are excited about the wonderful impact it will make for the children, youth families and adults the organization serves.”

The project includes a concept design for a natural playground extension for the Early Learning program and a therapeutic activity area for use by clients in the Supervised Visitation, Pediatric Therapy and Adult Day Health Center programs. The therapeutic activity area will include natural playground elements, a garden, a small sports court and a picnic area for families.
