YWCA Clark County has hired Kate Sacamano as its new director of philanthropy.

In her new role, Sacamano will lead the organization’s department of philanthropy, which is responsible for community outreach, marketing and development.

Sacamano has 17 years of experience in communication, community partnerships and nonprofit management. She was most recently the community partnership manager at The Columbian and prior to that was the executive director of the Hough Foundation.

A longtime volunteer in Clark County, Sacamano has served on the board of directors for The Children’s Center, Gifts for Our Community and the George C. Marshall Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association. She has served on committees for YWCA Clark County, Friends of the Children, Vancouver’s Downtown Association and Washington State University Vancouver’s advisory committee for the creative media and digital culture department.

Founded in 1916, YWCA Clark County serves 11,800 individuals each year through its educational and outreach programs, social services, advocacy and events.

The M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust in Vancouver recently announced the hiring of Jason Lee as receptionist and administrative assistant.

Lee arrives at the trust after spending time in Beijing as an English instructor and program developer with various nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to bring Jason on board into this imperative role at the trust, as we seek to serve the nonprofit community in the Northwest.” said Steve Moore, executive director of the Murdock Trust.

The trust was created in 1975 from the estate of Melvin J. (Jack) Murdock. Its mission is to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest by providing grants and enrichment programs to organizations seeking to strengthen the region’s educational, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways.
