Vancouver-based First Independent announces strategy development team

First Independent recently reorganized several critical functions under a new Strategy and Development Group headed by Stacey Graham, chief strategy officer. 

"We're charting the course for the future of community banking.  Strategy development is becoming a continuous process that requires good data and analysis and integrated products and marketing solutions," Graham said. 

Kristi Langdon, vice president/senior strategist and manager, leads the Strategy & Analysis Team. Prior to joining First Independent in 2005, Langdon was a manager of financial planning and analysis with Hollywood Entertainment. 

The marketing team is led by Tammi Olund, who has been promoted to vice president and senior marketing manager. Olund joined First Independent in 2006 as retail brand and marketing manager and public relations officer. 

The bank's new vice president and senior human resources manager is Kelly Kidd, who joined First Independent in late 2009 with 15 years of HR experience for companies including Paragon Cable, Microsoft Corporation and, most recently, Vancouver-based nLight.

Scott Milam, best known in the local business community as NW Natural's former district manager, and Ken Imse, a long-time banker in the Vancouver market, have joined forces as Milam-Imse Consulting. 

"In today's tough business environment, companies need to set out clear strategies and operational goals. We can help," Milam said.

Milam earned a BS in Business Management, followed by an MBA in Strategic Planning, before embarking on a two decade career at NW Natural. Milam followed that with three years as executive director of the Portland Salvation Army. In addition, Milam remains very active with the local Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce.   

Imse brings 25 years of experience as a commercial banker in the Vancouver-Portland market and a wealth of understanding and know-how to his clients. He is a former board member of the Columbia River Economic Development Council and Identity Clark County and has participated on various chamber of commerce committees.    

CHERYL CRISPIN

Southwest Washington Medical Center is pleased to recognize Cheryl Crispin, PT, as the HomeCare Association of Washington's Therapist of the Year.

Crispin, a Vancouver resident, was honored at a special HCAW luncheon in Seattle
April 7.

Crispin was nominated by her manager, Mark Lehner, who said, "Cheryl is a great communicator and always focused on the best outcome for patients and how to get there."
