Greg Oden's Salmon Creek surgery

Greg Oden, center for the Portland Trail Blazers basketball team, underwent a successful surgery on his left patella – or kneecap – at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital last Sunday for an injury he sustained the previous night in a game against the Houston Rockets.

"Surgery went very well. He knows he's got work to do in rehab but we have a lot of confidence in him and expect him to make a full recovery," said Trail Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard.

Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital, located on 139th Street in Vancouver, specializes in multiple areas of health, including joint care. Dr. Don Roberts performed surgery on the damage, which was described as being the size of a fingertip. Recovery should take six to 12 months.
