Grace Physical Training Institute hires new fitness manager

Tom Grace, owner of Grace Physical Training Institute, announced the hiring of Shyla Strain as fitness manager and Certified Personal Trainer. Strain has 14 years of experience in the fitness industry, helping people meet and exceed their health and fitness goals in order to be healthy, live longer and enjoy life. 

Prior to joining Grace Physical Training Institute, Strain spent six years at Northwest Personal Training, mostly as fitness director/manager. Prior to her time at NWPT, Strain was a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for six years at Cascade Athletic Club in Gresham. 

Grace Physical Training Institute is a private training center located at 5601 E. 18th St., Bldg. 3, Suite 308, in Vancouver. 

MELISSA BARTELL

Melissa Bartell has been appointed CEO and partner of Northwest Healthcare, Inc., a Vancouver-based home healthcare business. Bartell was previously administrator for Northwest Healthcare.

Northwest Healthcare was formed in 1999 by gerontologist Gail Haskett to keep individuals in their homes by providing comprehensive in-home assistance and skilled healthcare. The business is located at 16821 S.E. McGillivray Blvd. in Vancouver.

JOHN HARTNEY

John Hartney, sales manager of Corwin Beverage Company of Ridgefield, has been awarded the President's Ring of Honor from PepsiCo. The award honors PepsiCo's top performing sales associates and is given to less than one-quarter of 1 percent of the international company's sales team, which includes Quaker and Frito Lay. Hartney will be honored in June at a three-day event, including a President's Ring of Honor Awards Gala, at the PepsiCo headquarters in Purchase, N.Y.

Previously a district manager for Frito Lay, Hartney has been sales manager for four years for Corwin Beverage. He is active on several Pepsi committees and is the National Account Sale Manager for WinCo. Hartney is the second Corwin employee to be honored by PepsiCo.

LEE CULP

Dental Technologies, Inc., parent company of Interstate Laboratory in Vancouver, last month announced the appointment of Lee Culp, CDT, to the position of chief technology officer.

Culp brings more than 30 years of laboratory and technology experience to DTI. Prior to joining the company, he served as vice president of Dental Technologies at D4D Technologies, where he guided the development of a variety of technologies for use in both dental practices and dental laboratories.
