Vancouver-based LSW Architects has added Tim Cowan to its architecture and design team.

In his new position, Cowan will support LSW’s team for The Uptown mixed-use project that will be located in Vancouver.

Cowan’s background stems from more than a decade of experience in all project phases with an emphasis on construction administration for higher education, corporate office and government projects.

Prior to joining LSW, he spent three years as a furniture and technology sales consultant for K-12 education clients throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Biokleen, a Vancouver-based manufacturer of plant-based household cleaners, has hired Ted Morgan as the company’s new director of marketing.

In his new role, Morgan will lead up the company’s marketing efforts as it expands into new channels and markets for the brand.

Morgan has more than 20 years leading brand strategies on behalf of consumer packaged goods and consumer electronics companies. For the past 14 years he was the director of account services and strategy for Koopman Ostbo, a Portland-based marketing communications agency with a specialization in natural and organic brands.

“We’re excited to have Ted aboard,” said Barry Firth, the Biokleen’s general manager. “He has a proven track record of growing brand awareness and affinity for natural retail products that will surely benefit Biokleen in our next phase of growth.”

Elaine Dixon has joined the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) staff as the incoming director of education and workforce development. Dixon will fill the vacancy created on June 30 when Arnie Winkler, current director of education and workforce development, retires.

Dixon comes to NWPPA with more than 20 years of organizational learning and development experience, and 10 years of experience in the power industry. Most recently, she spent eight years with Marsh and McLennen companies as the global head of client delivery. Prior to that, she worked for PacifiCorp/Scottish Power as the director of talent management. She has also worked for PacifiCare Health Systems and Nike.

“Elaine was the unanimous selection of the interview panel,” said NWPPA Executive Director Anita Decker. “She has the background and experience to make sure we don’t miss a beat at delivering value to our members with our training and educational programs.”

Dixon has a bachelor’s degree in industrial organizational psychology from Western Washington University, a certification in organizational systems design, and is currently completing her International Coaching Federation certification.

“I grew up in the Puget Sound area,” said Dixon. “I have been very lucky to have traveled and worked globally, but I am so grateful for the opportunity to come home to work across this beautiful part of our world.”

NWPPA is an international association representing and serving nearly 150 customer-owned, locally controlled utilities in the Western U.S. and Canada.

Each of the new board members has a track record in healthcare operations, strategy and financial stewardship.

Strumwasser currently serves as senior vice president, operations for San Francisco Bay Service Area of Dignity Health. He was formally the chief executive of Swedish First Hill and Cherry Hill campuses, which accounted for 80 percent of the admissions and revenue for the Swedish Health Services system. He is a graduate of University of Southern California-Keck School of Medicine.

Carrier was interim senior vice president and chief executive of Providence Health & Services California, based in Torrance. He had a successful career in nonprofit healthcare having held various senior executive leadership roles with Providence Health & Services as well as chief financial officer for Riverside Community Hospital and Summit Health. He holds a master’s degree in business administration, finance from University of Oregon.

Murphy currently serves as vice president of theology and ethics for St. Joseph Health in Irvine, Calif. He has a rich professional career in healthcare and academic communities serving as a senior ethics and mission integration leader. Previously, he has served at the University of British Columbia, Providence Health Care, as well as the University of Alberta, Canada. Murphy holds a Ph.D. in theology, healthcare ethics from St. Paul University.

John Posey, a member of Clark County Association of Realtors and a USMC Vietnam Combat Veteran, has joined Coldwell Banker Seal – Vancouver West. A longtime local resident, Posey specializes in assisting military and veteran clients and first time home buyers and sellers.

Also joining Coldwell Banker Seal – Vancouver West is Angela Rich, who has bought and sold six homes with her husband since 2003. Rich has a master’s degree in special education from Stephen F. Austin State University.

In the company’s Longview office, CB Seal announced the hiring of Matt Carnahan and Michael Hensley.
