It’s your Journal

I want to take this opportunity to invite reader participation in the many avenues the Vancouver Business Journal has to offer.

First, I want to reiterate that this space that I am occupying right now is your space. Business leaders, organization heads, government officials and those affected by the business community’s decisions and actions are invited to take over this very space. We invite letters, opinion pieces and point-counterpoint pieces.

Thousands of business leaders read the Journal every two weeks and subscribe to breaking news online. These readers are influenced by the voices in the Journal and in turn influence others’ decision making. Become a part of this cycle by sending in a letter or calling me to schedule an appropriate opinion piece on a newsworthy topic.

On the news side, keep the Movers and Shakers and Datebook announcements coming – we thank you. Our readers look forward to seeing which among their peers are moving up and moving on, and appreciate the opportunity to get involved in local events that benefit the community at large and the business community in particular. We also offer an opportunity to new businesses to be seen. Email me to receive our new business announcement form and email, fax or mail the information back to me, and your new business will be listed within approximately six months of opening. Soon, you will be able to fill out this form online.

You might also be interested to know that you can tell us about new projects breaking ground and sign up for breaking news at our new website, www.vbjusa.com.

In addition, you can subscribe to the Journal and purchase reprints online. Soon, we will be offering photos from the Journal and other special publications for sale on the site, as well as tickets to our many popular business events.

The Vancouver Business Journal aims to be the best source of news and information for the business community in Southwest Washington, but it also aims to be a resource and a valued member of the community, offering many opportunities one can’t find anywhere else. Soon, the Journal will be officed out of a more centrally located historic building on Officers Row – an epicenter of great growth and opportunity near downtown Vancouver – and even more accessible to our readers and customers than ever before.

Stay tuned – and get involved now. Great things are happening at the Vancouver Business Journal.
