Up Close With Tani Zarelli

Current job: Runyan’s Jewelers and Bachelor of Science student at Grand Canyon University. I am majoring in marketing and advertising.

Proudest professional moment: Most recent moment is sitting with clients at Eric Runyan Jewelers listening to stories about jewelry they have brought in and then designing a new piece using some or all they have. A recent example, a young woman was given her grandmother’s earrings and grandfather’s wedding band. We designed a beautiful ring for her using the gold and diamonds from the wedding band and the diamonds from the earrings. It is the greatest feeling when you see the expression on people when they see the finished piece. One other moment a few years ago was reading an article in a Israeli newspaper where people called me Israel’s Citizen Ambassador. It was very humbling.

First job: I was a dishwasher in a small restaurant at 14 years old and helped my father build foundations for homes he was building as a contractor.

Fun fact: I love wine tasting and turning the music up at home to dance and sing while cleaning.

Favorite spot on a Saturday night: Home in my PJs with popcorn, a fire and a movie.

Favorite movie: “Green Book” and “Irishmen.”

Music of choice: I love R&B, nothing like a little Marvin Gaye. I’m also a rock ‘n roll girl.

Favorite place to eat: Galeotti’s or Say Ciao!

Motto/Inspirational quote: “You’re never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.”
