Up Close With Lori Lindberg

Lori Lindberg

Current job: As a volunteer, I am president of the board for Rocksolid Community Teen Center. I also dabble in marketing, mostly for Mill Creek Pub.

Proudest professional moment: Being raised with the importance of volunteering, and the love I have for that, my proudest moment was being named Battle Ground Citizen of the Year 2013. Having my dad there, with tears in his eyes, was something I will never forget.

First job: Waitress at Joe Brown’s Diner on Main Street in Vancouver. I loved the regulars. Back in the day, it was a gathering spot for several business professionals. I met several wonderful people and learned a lot about customer service.

Fun fact: I was Little Miss Vancouver in 1973. And I play a killer game of air-hockey.

Favorite spot on a Saturday night: Under the stars in Goldendale with my family. We have a little place up there. Whenever we can get away to spend time there we sit outside and look up. The sky is amazing there. It is so quiet and peaceful. It’s an excellent way to spend quality time with my loves – my husband and two kids.

Favorite movie: I am a sucker for a goofy comedy, so I’d have to say “Elf”! Although “Legends of the Fall” was a great serious movie I love.

Music of choice: Almost anything; depends on my mood. I listen to country, pop, Christian rock and classic rock. 50’s swing music reminds me of my dancing days with my dad.

Favorite place to eat: Mill Creek Pub! We have got to know the staff like family. And I love options –comfort food or super healthy salad options.

Motto/Inspirational quote: This is a tough one. If you know me, you know I post a quote almost daily. I love inspirational quotes! Today, I would have to go with: “God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and Light for the way.”
