Oregon-led I-5 Bridge bill clears first hurdle

According to an Associated Press report, voting was split along party lines with democrats supporting the $2.8 billion project and republicans opposed.

The project would reportedly get about a third of its funding from the federal government, with much of the rest coming from tolls. Oregon would take on about $450 million in debt.
