When Clark County resident Paula Whitehurst first started her business, P3 Insurance Agency, back in 2016, her goal was to create an insurance agency where she would be able to educate the public about insurance and create a boutique experience with the highest standards in customer service.

“I wanted to help my clients find the right insurance company with the right carrier to fit their needs,” Whitehurst said. “Being an independent agent gives me the options to do that.”

P3 Insurance Agency offers insurance solutions that include personal and commercial auto insurance; homeowners, renters and condo; life insurance; flood and earthquake; business insurance; and contractors and bonds. The agency works with numerous carriers, including Progressive, Safeco, Travelers, Bristol West, Allstate and many others.

Whitehurst started P3 Insurance Agency from scratch with no employees in December of 2016. She now has two employees. Located in Vancouver, Whitehurst said she chose to start her business in Clark County mainly because she lives here, but also because of the support she received from the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and, at the time, the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce.

“The support I received from other business owners really made the difference,” she said, mentioning that she had thought about going into Oregon. “The feeling of comradery in the Vancouver business community is infectious.”

Whitehurst said that one of the biggest reasons her business is successful is the relationships she’s built with her clients and the customer service her insurance agency provides.

“I’m thankful to have amazing employees that have the same goal in mind,” she said. “I chose to have my business in a house that was converted to an office space to create an atmosphere that was comfortable and not imposing. I want my clients to feel at home when they come visit.”

Something that Whitehurst said makes P3 Insurance Agency stand apart is that they go “above and beyond just standard customer service.” She said they truly care about their clients and their families, and that makes a big difference.

“We take the time to explain all the coverages and involve the client with making the decision on what coverage they need instead of just selling a policy,” Whitehurst said. “All my clients have my cell phone number and know they can call me anytime should they need help. I know how busy life can be, so I made our hours flexible so I can be available for busy families and business owners.”

P3 Insurance Agency is located at 3207 NE 54th St., in Vancouver.
