Turtle Place Unveiled

Turtle Place, a fully sustainable temporary plaza at Seventh Street between Main and Washington streets in Vancouver, at night.

The plaza is a partnership between Vancouver’s Downtown Association, C-Tran, Clark Public Utilities and the city of Vancouver. The business community, including Tribe 2 Studios owners Bryan Helfrich and Patrick Hildreth, turned out in droves on May 1 to celebrate the grand opening. Tribe 2 designed the mural, branding and graphics for Turtle Place. Lee Coulthard, president of Vancouver’s Downtown Association, Jim Irish, mayor of La Center and chair of the C-Tran board, and Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard christen the water sculpture with a fire hose.
