Study: Clark County top 10 in WA for mortgages

In its second annual study on the Best Places to Get a Mortgage, SmartAsset, a New York financial technology company, has ranked Clark County as the 10th best county in the state of Washington to get a mortgage.

The study determined the top markets by comparing the likelihood of mortgage approval by county, in addition to mortgage rates, average five-year borrowing costs and property taxes.

SmartAsset found that Clark County’s loan funding rate was just shy of 64 percent – sixth highest in the state. The county’s property tax rate ranked 37th.

Overall, the top three counties in the state were Kittitas, King and Lewis. Skamania County was ranked 27th and Cowlitz County was ranked 39th.

Last year, the study ranked Clark County as 25th in the state for mortgages.
