First Indy to close branches

Vancouver-based First Independent Bank announced last week that it would consolidate its network of branch offices from 19 to 16 in the coming months.

The three branches slated to be consolidated are in Woodland, La Center and Bingen. ATMs and night drops will remain at all locations.

According to the bank, the primary reason for each closure is underutilization of those offices, with roughly one-third of the account holders in the branches to be closed conducting business electronically.

The dates for the branch closures are as follows: Bingen, Nov. 18; La Center, Nov. 24; and Woodland, Dec. 2.

Menchie's customers help themselves to a mix of yogurt and toppings at a self-serve station with more than 100 rotating yogurt flavors and more than 70 rotating toppings.

Founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Adam and Danna Caldwell, the company has more than 40 locations open domestically, with an additional 45 currently in development.
