The city of Vancouver and the Neighborhood Traffic Safety Alliance will receive approximately $450,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the following safety and accessibility improvements:
Installation of new playground equipment and lighting at Meadow Homes Park (4500 E. 18th St.) Replacing the existing climbing structure at Marshall Park (1015 E. McLoughlin Blvd.) Installation of lighting at Fruit Valley Park (3200 Fruit Valley Rd.) Installation of audible crossing signals and replacement of portions of sidewalk that do not meet ADA standards at the intersection of Evergreen Boulevard and C Street Pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements on 33rd Street, between St. Johns Boulevard and K Street Construction will occur between December 2014 and June 2015.
