BRIAN TERHUNE

Stilwell Baker names Brian Terhune as Operations Director

Vancouver-based Stilwell Baker Inc., which specializes in electronic engineering and manufacturing in the aerospace, industrial controls and medical equipment markets, has named Brian Terhune as operations director.

Most recently serving as senior project manager for Erickson Air-Crane, Terhune comes to Stilwell Baker with more than 20 years of project management experience in aerospace systems and software development.

In his new role, all project-related operational activities at Stilwell Baker will be within Terhune’s purview, the company said. He will be responsible for project management, procurement, manufacturing, and will also direct the Stilwell Baker engineering and quality departments.

“Brian has the industry-specific knowledge and experience to drive the operational side of the organization to an exceptional level of productivity. He’s also a real fit for our collaborative culture, and will be a significant addition to our management team,” said Darrel Baker, president and CEO of Stilwell Baker.

MICHELE STARRY

Skamania Lodge recently added Michele Starry to its catering department as the new catering sales manager.

As catering sales manager, Starry will be responsible for handling many event-related duties, from weddings and other gatherings to corporate retreats and high-tech meetings. This includes coordinating and negotiating bookings for groups, acting as the liaison between clients and the lodge, coordinating catering details and managing day-of event activities.

 “We’re thrilled to have Michele on board and part of Skamania’s team,” said Scott Spann, general manager at the lodge. “There’s no doubt that her solid event planning and catering background will make an outstanding contribution to the lodge and our ever-growing list of popular events.”

Prior to joining Skamania Lodge, Starry was the events manager at Lan Su Chinese Garden. She was also director of catering & convention services at Best Western Ocean View Resort, regional education coordinator at Medtronic, sales coordinator at Cragun’s Resort and Conference Center, recruiting events planner at Ernst & Young LLP and events coordinator at Museum of History & Industry.

Starry earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Washington. She sits on the board of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) as director of monthly education and is an active member of Wedding Network USA.

CYNTHIA HILTON

Cynthia Hilton of Biggs Insurance Services is a recipient of the 2011 Outstanding Achievement Award by the National Underground Contractors Association (NUCA) of Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Hilton specializes in the construction, retail and manufacturing industries, and holds both an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) certification.

MARK CASTLE

Otak Inc., an urban design, architecture and planning firm, has hired Mark Castle as a civil engineer in its Vancouver office.

Castle has more than 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors, preparing plans and specifications for roadways, bridges, site development, water distribution and sewerage projects, the firm said.

Prior to joining Otak, Castle was with the city of Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services in the Engineering Services Group. He was responsible for preparing AutoCAD base maps using the city’s GIS data and supplemental ground survey data, and for preparing improvement plans for sewer rehabilitation and stormwater retrofit projects under the direction of bureau engineers.

MARK McCLOUD

Adamas Realty recently announced the addition of Mark McCloud as managing broker.

McCloud brings 35 years of real estate experience, including 20 years teaching real estate classes and 15 years in management, the firm said.

McCloud has served on the boards of directors for the local realtor association and the Multiple Listing Service. He is a Certified Hunter Safety Education Instructor for the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and has served on advisory boards for the city of Vancouver and the Chamber of Commerce.

NATE HERBST & CHRIS BARNES

Ridgefield-based Corwin Beverage Company recently announced the promotions of key account sales representatives Nate Herbst and Chris Barnes to managerial positions.

The company said Herbst has been promoted to direct store delivery sales manager and Barnes has been promoted to channel sales manager.

Herbst has worked at Corwin Beverage since 2004. He was awarded the President’s Ring of Honor for top performance by PepsiCo in 2011. He is a resident of Vancouver and leads the annual Corwin Beverage food drive.

Barnes has worked for Corwin Beverage since 1997. He is a resident of east Vancouver and is an active school volunteer.
