Colby Reade, an account manager at The Hoffman Agency in Vancouver, will receive the 2014 New Professional Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Portland Metro Chapter. Reade will be honored at the PRSA Spotlight Awards next month in Portland.

The New Professional Award of Excellence honors a chapter member who has entered the field of public relations within the past five years. It is presented to a professional who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing public relations through career achievements, volunteerism and the highest standards of professionalism.

“Receiving this award is a huge honor for me,” said Reade. “I consider myself incredibly lucky, because I’ve been surrounded by a lot of really smart, dedicated professionals who have served as mentors, coaches and guides as I’ve launched my career in public relations.”

At The Hoffman Agency, Reade works on the Alcatel Lucent account and supports the company’s new business efforts. He was previously at Waggener Edstrom Communications, where he worked on global communications for brands such as Windows, Windows Phone, SkyDrive/OneDrive and Outlook.com.

Nelson Holmberg, senior public involvement project manager for BergerABAM, is now serving on the Board of Directors for the Responsive Leadership Initiative (RLI).

A newly-formed organization, RLI promotes the economic development agenda developed by local countywide business organizations, while also developing, training and supporting moderate elected representatives who promote economic development in Southwest Washington.

Holmberg is a veteran public and media relations executive, who has worked in both the public and private sectors. He previously served as the Port of Woodland’s executive director.

Donison-Debbie DEBBIE DONISON

The Management Group Inc. (TMG) recently hired Debbie Donison as a staff accountant in their Vancouver office.

Donison comes to TMG with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a background as a CPA. She will have a portfolio of the company’s Washington properties and will be responsible for all portfolio financial activities, the firm said.

TMG provides rental property management, sales and homeowner association management services in Washington & Oregon.
