Cheryl Bledsoe

Current job: 9-1-1 technology manager for Clackamas County

Proudest professional moment: Being one of the first emergency managers to incorporate use of social media into all phases of emergency management while working at CRESA 9-1-1.

First job: Worked in fast food for Rax (the precursor to Arby’s) Restaurant

Fun fact: I now speak to all sorts of groups about how to use social media effectively in government. The most unique audiences to date have included medical examiners and farmers. Yes, even farmers on tractors find themselves on Twitter.

Favorite spot on a Saturday night: Doing laundry & hanging with my kids (ages 6 & 10)

Favorite movie: “Dead Poets Society”

Music of choice: Broadway Musicals & Maroon 5

Favorite place to eat: We have lots of awesome food places in Vancouver, but one of my favorites is Low Bar.

Motto/Inspirational quote: “Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said, ‘Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.’ Don’t be resigned to that. Break out!” – John Keating, played by Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society.
