Vancouver’s Downtown Association recognizes ‘Game Changers’

Vancouver’s Downtown Association (VDA) named a handful of businesses as Game Changer Award recipients during the organization’s Annual Awards Breakfast last week.

Game Changer Award Winners include:

Steve Bader, Bader Beer and Wine Supply, VDA Carl Dobbs Award(outstanding VDA volunteer)

Great Western Malting, Albina Fuel Award (outstanding corporate partner)

Recycled Arts Festival, VDA Game Changer Award (peoples’ choice for
favorite event)

Tommy O’s, VDA Game Changer Golden Broom Award (outstanding storefront)

City of Vancouver Events Manager Stacey Donovan, VDA’s Downtown Visionary Award

Vancouver Farmers Market, Cash Register Ringer Event Award (event with
largest economic impact)

Ryan Hurley of Hurley Development, VDA Game Changer Award (outstanding façade improvement)

The Grocery Cocktail and Social, VDA Game Changer Award (favorite new
business)

Also during the awards breakfast, VDA Executive Director Lee Rafferty thanked businesses that helped the organization reach its 2014 fundraising goal through the Main Street Tax Credit Incentive Program.

“We are the highest performing downtown in the state when it comes to accessing this vital funding tool,” she said. “And, it only happens because the local business community backs us 100 percent.”

VDA has brought more than 1.3 million dollars to projects in the city center since
2007.
