Vancouver estimates $1.3M in grants available for housing

The City of Vancouver estimates there will be up to $1.3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding available for local projects in 2020. Application guidelines and a link to the online application are available at www.cityofvancouver.us/cdbg. Mandatory pre-applications are due on or before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13. Final applications will be due on or before 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16.

Funds are available for construction, acquisition and rehabilitation of housing or public facilities; public/social services; economic development programs; and tenant-based rental assistance programs targeted to benefit low and moderate-income areas and families. Local governments and non-profit organizations and agencies may apply.

The City will hold an optional informational workshop for interested applicants from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 in the Aspen Conference Room in City Hall at 415 W. Sixth St. Funding decisions will be made by Vancouver City Council in May 2020. Funding awards and contract negotiation will occur between July and October 2020.
