Share’s annual gala brings in more than $220,000

Share, a Vancouver nonprofit that provides services to homeless and hungry Clark County residents, raised $221,376 at its Vintage Vegas Gala, which was presented by Riverview Community Bank on Saturday, April 22.

The record-breaking gross total included $110,104 raised during the special appeal alone.

“Share’s annual gala was truly an exemplary example of our community’s generosity,” said Diane McWithey, executive director of Share. “We raised a record-breaking $220,361, despite having 100 less guests, as we moved our event to a smaller venue. We are truly grateful to our presenting sponsor Riverview Community Bank and all of our sponsors, without whom this event would not have happened.

“Funds raised at our gala are vital in ensuring that men, women and children facing hunger and homelessness in our community attain every opportunity to have access to nutritious food for themselves, and their family, secure housing and build a self-sufficient future,” she added.

Founded in 1979, Share operates three shelters for the homeless, a transitional housing program, Lincoln Place (a 30-unit Housing First model apartment complex), a street outreach program, case management to clients, daily meals for the homeless and low-income members of our community and more.
