Ridgefield adopts 2016 budget

The Ridgefield City Council unanimously adopted a $25.1 million budget for 2016 during a council meeting this month.

According to city officials, the budget consists of $10.4 million for operating funds, $4.8 million for special revenue funds and $9.9 million in capital improvements.

It includes additional funding for street maintenance, system and technology upgrades, design and construction of the 35th & Pioneer roundabout, tools for business recruitment, retention and expansion, and more.

“In 2015, the city laid the foundation for responsible growth in Ridgefield,” said Steve Stuart, Ridgefield city manager. “The 2016 budget reflects the capital investment required to serve our citizens.”

The 2016 adopted budget is available for viewing on the city’s website, www.ci.ridgefield.wa.us.
