PeaceHealth SW Medical Center Foundation reports strong fundraising year

The PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation announced this week that it received nearly $6.1 million in donations in 2016.

The funds were used to complete a number of health care initiatives, including the opening of the Ron and Terry Prill Cardiac Care Center – a state-of-the-art unit designated exclusively to patients with serious heart disease.

“The continuing generosity of our community helps ensure that all patients at PeaceHealth Southwest receive the best possible medical care right here in southwest Washington,” said Carol Van Natta, executive director of the Foundation, in a press release. “We are so thankful for the overwhelming support from our donors, caregivers and community members, who truly help us advance our caring mission each and every day.”

Other 2016 initiatives included the creation of an endowed education fund for neuroscience caregivers, the expansion of services for palliative care, and the development of a program to help pay prescription costs for low-income patients.
