Herrera Beutler to host annual jobs fair May 2

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler will host her sixth annual Southwest Washington Jobs Fair from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Vancouver. Additionally, she will offer a job hunting workshop on April 28 at the Vancouver Community Library from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Similar to previous jobs fairs, the free event will be open to all Southwest Washington residents and will include employers from a variety of industries.

“Getting people back to work has been the focal point of my efforts since I was first elected to Congress, and it’s my honor to once again host this event that brings employers and job seekers together,” said Herrera Beutler in a press release. “When we first started the Southwest Washington Jobs Fair in 2011, many people were really hurting and needing jobs. Since that time we’ve seen the economy improve, but the reality is that there are still too many unemployed and under-employed people in our region. I’m pleased to offer this resource, which includes a resume and interviewing workshop prior to the jobs fair, to help folks put their best foot forward and find work.”

Employers who are interested in participating in the jobs fair should contact Pam Peiper at 360.695.6292.
