Development & housing grant applications now available

The city of Vancouver estimates there will be up to $1 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding available for local projects in 2016.

Funds are available for construction, acquisition, economic development, accessibility improvements, rehabilitation projects, housing construction, services and tenant-based rental assistance targeted to benefit low- and moderate-income areas and families. Nonprofit organizations, local governments and agencies are eligible to apply.

The city will conduct an optional workshop for interested applicants on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at City Hall, Aspen Conference Room (415 W. 6th St). City staff will review the application guidelines and the online application process at the workshop.

Funding decisions will be made by the Vancouver City Council in April and May of next year. Funding awards and contract negotiation will occur between July and October 2016.
