GWEN SCHWARTZ
The Fort Vancouver National Trust has hired Gwen Schwartz as its new director of development.
Schwartz has extensive fundraising experience, serving more than ten years in a variety of capacities in the areas of planned giving, special events and annual giving for Providence Health and Services Foundation in Oregon. As part of the foundation’s development team, Schwartz had responsibility for sponsorships and event logistics in the team’s annual fundraising of $1.8 million in event revenues, and she managed a portfolio of donors raising $500,000 annually.
“We are tremendously pleased to have Gwen join the Trust staff, particularly as we are now completing a comprehensive strategic planning process,” said Trust President and CEO Elson Strahan. “In looking ahead to a very dynamic future, it is clear that Gwen will provide the leadership to help enable us to develop the resources needed, in partnership with the community, to support the Trust’s rich array of education and preservation programs and events that commemorate our heritage and shape our legacy.”
Established in 1998, Fort Vancouver National Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the preservation and education purposes of Fort Vancouver National Site.
Columbia Credit Union has promoted Tabitha Presser to vice president/branch manager of the Washougal branch.
In her new role, Presser will be responsible for ensuring the branch’s overall success, meeting goals for production, sales, service and market growth. She will develop and initiate plans for staff leadership and development; ensure branch compliance with regulations and policies; and assist in advancing the strategic direction of the credit union.
Prior to her promotion, Presser held the assistant branch manager role at the Cascade Park branch. She started as a part-time member service associate, and has also held greeter and loan officer roles.
Presser holds a bachelor of science degree in theology from Multnomah University. She volunteers for the Clark County Food Bank, Loaves and Fishes and Junior Achievement. She also serves as a Lunch Buddy for the Vancouver School District.
Dean Potter has been reappointed to the Washington State Real Estate Appraiser Commission. He has served on the commission since 1996.
Potter is president of Dean Potter & Associates Inc, a real estate appraisal and consulting company located in Vancouver. He holds a General Appraisal Certification in the state of Washington and professional appraisal designations of MAI and SRA from the Appraisal Institute, as well as the FRICS Designation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
