Columbia Ultimate, a Vancouver-headquartered collections company, has named Carl E. Harkleroad as its chief innovation officer.

Harkleroad joins Columbia Ultimate with more than 30 years of IT experience; 24 years within the collection industry. Harkleroad founded Latitude Software in 1997 and has since served as the CEO and president for over 15 years. During this time, he pioneered the introduction of hosted collection software in the ARM industry.

“Carl is a powerhouse of vision and progress within the collection industry. His remarkable experience and cutting edge approach will undoubtedly strengthen and shape the value and service we provide our clients and the industry,” said Columbia Ultimate’s President & CEO R. Fred Houston.

In his new role, Harkleroad will provide insights and guidance on all Columbia Ultimate solutions for clients, as well as grow opportunities to new accounts receivable management (ARM) markets.

“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Columbia Ultimate,” said Harkleroad. “There is great momentum at the company right now and opportunity to expand our involvement and impact in the evolution of technology within the ARM industry. Dominique Merriweather has joined Pacific Continental Bank’s Vancouver office as vice president, commercial banking officer.

Merriweather has more than 20 years of banking experience. The Eugene-based bank said he will be a key member of the banking team as Pacific Continental Bank expands its presence in Southwest Washington through its move to the Hudson building, planned for March 2016.

Merriweather serves on the Washington State University Vancouver Diversity Advisory Board, Albina Roadrunner Track Club Board, and Partners in Careers Program Committee. He is also an active volunteer with Leadership Clark County and the Evergreen School District.

He has a bachelor’s degree in business and communications from Concordia University and a master’s degree in finance and accounting from Portland State University.

Cass ParkerCASS PARKER

The Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC) has promoted Cass Parker to employer services manager overseeing the manufacturing and technology sectors.

In her new role, Parker will work with employers to determine likely areas of growth in job openings and skills and assist employers with funding and training resources to enhance the skills of their existing employees.

She will coordinate with WorkSource and training partners to create strategies to match resources to employer needs.

Cass joined SWWDC in early 2015 and has been assisting with contract management for manufacturing and technology grants and overseeing the Business After School program.

She has more than 10 years of human resources and office administration experience.

Her prior positions include office manager with New Castle Photography, benefits administration with RS Medical and staff assistant at the Vancouver Public Schools.

She recently served on the board of Good Shepherd Montessori preschool.

She has held various positions with the Sarah J. Anderson Elementary School PTA and been a Junior Achievement instructor and Cub Scout Pack treasurer.

Parker holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California Riverside and has done post-graduate work in management and development.

PeaceHealth Medical Group plastic surgeon Allen Gabriel, MD, has been named a “Patients’ Choice 5-year Honoree” by the web-based physician education service vitals.com.

According to vitals.com, the Patients’ Choice 5-Year Honoree Award is presented only to those doctors whose ratings have reflected excellence in care for five consecutive years.

This recognition is limited to just 1 percent of all U.S. physicians and is based on patient voting.

“I’m grateful to my patients for taking the time to share their thoughts about the care they received,” said the Vancouver-based plastic surgeon.

“I believe our success is based on our patient-centered approach. Our amazing, dedicated team shares my passion for encouraging and inspiring our patients. It’s important that we do all we can to deliver our patients a bright and healthy future.”

Gabriel, who specializes in body contouring, is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
