The Kuni Foundation, a Vancouver-based charitable foundation that supports adults with developmental disabilities and funds cancer research, has hired Angela Hult as its new executive director.
Hult, a Washington native, previously served as the director of corporate social responsibility for Cambia Health Solutions, a $9 billion health solutions company based in Portland. She also served as executive director of the Cambia Health Foundation, a grant-making organization devoted to transforming the health care industry.
Her newest challenge will be guiding the Wayne D. Kuni and Joan E. Kuni Foundation as it transforms into one of the largest charitable organizations in the area. The foundation was established in 2005.
“We’re very excited to have Angela help lead the foundation as it grows to become one of the largest in the Northwest,” said Carolyn W. Miller, Kuni Foundation board chair, in a press release.
Since it was established, the foundation has since funded Stephen’s Place, a vibrant community for adults with complex language, learning and cognitive disabilities; contributed more than $10 million to medical research, including a contribution of $5 million toward the Knight Cancer challenge; and, late last year, partnered with The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington to create a $50 million charitable fund to support medical research and investments that support adults with developmental disabilities.

Hult will officially assume her role as executive director on April 17.
