Nonprofit Internet café opens

CREAM - computer reuse, education and marketing - recently opened an Education Center and Internet Café at 5000 E. Fourth Plain in Vancouver.

The nonprofit gathers used electronics with the help of community partners such as Clark County, the city of Vancouver, the Salvation Army and Waste Connections, using them to make low-cost computers and electronics available to the public. Proceeds from sales support free Internet access and education to the community.

Longtime arborist certified

Joseph Thomas of Thomas Family Tree, LLC recently received his arborist certification through the International Society of Arboriculture. The Vancouver-based landscape company has been family owned and operated since 1999, and specializes in plant diseases and insects, pruning, removals and planting. They are located at 10514 N.W. 11th Ave. in Vancouver.
