Gov. Christine Gregoire (D-WA) appointed Columbia River Economic Development Council President Bart Phillips to the newly-created Clean Energy Council last week. Phillips brings more than 20 years of economic development experience to the council, including the past nine years as president of CREDC.

Educational Opportunities for Children and Families last week announced Roni Stephens as executive assistant to the director. Stephens previous worked for the Evergreen School District for 22 years and currently volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
STEPHANIE WELDY
Stephanie Weldy has joined Westby Associates, Inc. as office manager. Weldy spent three years in the banking industry, both as a credit card specialist for Bank of America and as a loan assistant at First Horizon Home Loans.
DAVID LAWSON & RANDI SMITH
The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes announced the selection of Vancouver resident David Lawson and Randi Smith of Beaverton, Ore. to its Board of Directors. Lawson is the owner of the Princeton Athletic Club in downtown Vancouver. Smith is a teacher of the visually impaired at Vancouver's Washington State School for the Blind.
JILL HOMM, ED TURK, & LYNN VALENTER
The Board of Directors of Educational Opportunities for Children and Families elected officers in a July meeting. Jill Homme will continue serving as Chair, Ed Turk will begin serving as Vice-Chair and Lynn Valenter will serve as Secretary and Treasurer. Turk is Senior Vice President of Lending at iQ Credit Union. Homme is Academic Coordinator for Graduate Programs at WSUV. Valenter is vice chancellor of finance and operations at WSUV.
KATIE FOEHL & TEMPLE LENTZ
Leadership Clark County announced the addition of two new members, Katie Foehl and Temple Lentz, to its Board of Directors. Foehl is a 2008 graduate of the LCC program and has been involved with local nonprofits like the Clark County Skills Center Foundation. Lentz is a 2009 LCC graduate and is presently the campaign manager for Councilman Tim Leavitt in his bid for Vancouver Mayor.
