Natural Grocers coming to East Vancouver

The 15,000-square-foot Natural Grocers store currently under construction in East Vancouver/Camas.

Natural Grocers, a specialty retailer of organic and natural groceries, body care and dietary supplements, is just months away from opening its first store in East Vancouver.

Located at 3311 SE 192nd Avenue (corner of SE 192nd and SE34th), the new 15,000-square-foot store is expected to open in early 2017 with 18 employees.

With construction currently underway, the company is looking to hire department managers, cashiers and a Nutritional Health Coach. Applicants can apply for consideration at www.naturalgrocers.com/about/careers (must be at least 18 years old).

The East Vancouver location is the second Natural Grocers in Vancouver. In 2014, the retailer opened a store in Hazel Dell (7604 NE 5th Ave., #100). Companywide, Natural Grocers has more than 3,000 employees and operates 127 stores in 19 states.

Kemper Isely, the company’s co-president, said that much of the company’s rapid growth is due to its talented staff members.

“We cannot properly serve our customers without our talented staff and nutrition experts,” he said. “The crew we’re putting in place in Vancouver will be the experts in their field and will bring a great deal of knowledge and value to the Natural Grocers family and the local community.”

Founded in Colorado by Vitamin Cottage Inc. in 1955, Natural Grocers offers a neighborhood-store format and free, science-based nutrition education programs to help customers make informed health and nutrition choices. Stores feature organic produce, a mix of national brands and a selection of locally produced products.
