Corwin Beverage CEO resigns after 2 months

Ridgefield-based Corwin Beverage Company is on the hunt for a new CEO following the resignation of Ron Lloyd, who held the position for approximately two months. Lloyd was the company’s first outside hire for the position of CEO in its 74-year history.

Ron Arp, a spokesperson for Corwin Beverage, said that both parties realized early on that it was not an optimal partnership, so the company accepted his resignation.

“Any time a privately-owned family company seeks outside talent, it takes a while. It’s not an easy thing all the way around,” said Arp.

Portland-based Herd Freed Hartz has been tasked with conducting the search for a new CEO, which is expected to take six months to a year.

“We are seeking a chief executive who can help us pursue business strategies to become even more successful in a changing marketplace while maintaining the culture and values that are key to our success,” said Nancy Bjerkman, chairwoman of the Corwin Board of Directors.

Corwin’s daily business operations will now be directed by a four-person executive team in close coordination with its board.
