Bowers Steel to move from Port of Vancouver

Bowers Steel, a manufacturer of specialty steel items, is planning to move its operations from the Port of Vancouver.

The company recently purchased three acres of land and a 10,000-square-foot building for $1.1 million at 6500 NW Whitney Road in Vancouver. The property was purchased from Coday Holdings LLC.

“[At the port] we’re on a paved lot and we’re working outside, so trying to keep the place clean so we can have a clean runoff has been a struggle to say the least,” said company owner Dave Bowers. “We’re going to be inside buildings [in the new location] and it will be better for us.

“There was nothing wrong with the port,” he added. “They have always been good to us.”

Bowers said the company will likely move to the new location in June or July of this year.

Eric Fuller of Eric Fuller & Associates, Inc., represented Coday Holdings in the property deal; Mark Childs of Capacity Commercial represented Bowers.
