Paul Christensen, president and principal stockholder of Realvest Corporation, was honored for his contributions to the community by the Vancouver Business Journal this week.

On Tuesday, during the VBJ’s 2016 Accomplished & Under 40 recognition luncheon presented by Davidson & Associates Insurance, Christensen received the Kyle W. Corwin Legacy Builder Award. The award recognizes one person annually who has spent their career leading, mentoring, building a business and giving back.

“When we decided to honor Kyle Corwin’s memory with this award, Paul Christensen is exactly the kind of person we had in mind,” said John McDonagh, associate publisher of the Vancouver Business Journal. “Kyle was an accomplished business person, a dedicated family man and someone who believed in supporting the community through the sharing of time and talent and resources. Paul is someone who exemplifies those same characteristics and we were so very honored to recognize him with the Kyle Corwin Legacy Builder Award.”

Founded by Christensen in 1969, Realvest is a fully-integrated real estate investment and development firm. Under his leadership, the company has maintained a strong commitment to enriching the community through financial support and active involvement in local charitable organizations.

In 1992, Realvest founded the Hough Foundation, which continues to actively support underprivileged elementary school children by providing access to beneficial enrichment programs, social services and meaningful classroom assistance.

Honored as a First Citizen in 1998, Christensen currently serves on the boards of Identity Clark County, the Fort Vancouver National Trust and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

He holds a bachelor of theology degree from the Episcopal Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California, and a bachelor of philosophy degree from the University of Washington.
