Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival kicks off next weekend

The 19th Annual Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival kicks off next weekend (August 26-28) at Esther Short Park.

This year’s festival features a diverse lineup of award-winning musicians, food from six local restaurants, 30 fine artists from California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington, a variety of commercial exhibitors and more than 200 wines.

“The Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival is a unique northwest cultural arts event,” said Festival Manager Maria Manzo. “It is multi-faceted cultural festival, where people hear great music, enjoy Northwest wine, see beautiful fine art, and become immersed in an eclectic and creative weekend.”

Tommy Castro and The PainkillersIn addition to local and regional acts, the festival’s concert lineup includes six-time Blues Music Award winner Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, three-time Grammy-nominated Cuban Jazz Band Tiempo Libre, and three-time Grammy-nominee and Blues Music Award winner Bettye LaVette.

“This year our concert lineup includes jazz and blues legends, as well as up-and-coming musicians who are breaking onto the national scene,” said Artistic Director Michael Kissinger. “The audience will hear internationally acclaimed musicians as well as new faces at the festival this summer.”
