Senior housing project breaking ground in Vancouver

REACH Community Development will break ground on its first Vancouver senior housing project this afternoon (Friday, November 20), bringing affordable, sustainable housing to Clark County.

Designed by MWA Architects and being built by TEAM Construction, Isabella Court (located at 3112 NE 62nd Ave.) is strategically located on the Fourth Plain Corridor to address an area that is underserved for seniors.

The 49-unit apartment building will feature rents affordable to people 62 years and older who earn 60 percent or less of area median income. Ten apartments will include a rental subsidy making them affordable to households earning 30 percent or less of median income.

“Vancouver is experiencing an unprecedented demand for rental housing, particularly that is affordable to low-income residents,” said Vancouver Mayor Leavitt in a press release. “The city is proud to partner with REACH in bringing much-needed affordable housing to Vancouver and our senior population.”

Key amenities at Isabella Court include a large community room with kitchen and pantry, upper floor lounges, fitness equipment, on-site laundry, elevator, back patio area and community garden with shed.

Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete. This will be REACH’s sixth apartment community in Southwest Washington.
